midas FEA NX: Fatigue Analysis for Structural Connections

A super quick read.
Author: JC Sun
Publish Date: 16 Feb, 2022
In this Intro Session our MIDAS engineer explained show how midas FEA NX uses 20-node solid isoparametric elements to perform life estimation of steel structure connections. The session would also cover two different approaches (stress-life and strain-life) on which fatigue analysis is based using the finite element method. The session covers the following points:
-
- Overview of fatigue analysis
- Life estimation models
- S-N Approach
- E-N Approach
- Examples in FEA NX
